So far May has been a pretty good month. We have had some interesting weather patterns lately thats for sure. One day its mid 60s next day its 85… I have really enjoyed fishing with everybody lately some new faces some old faces. Looking forward to the next few weeks which includes seeing some old faces!
04/15/2012. I have had several folks give me a hard time for not updating my blog lately so here it is! In the past my posts have been pretty detailed but Im just going to try to keep it a little more simple. In the past few months I have been very fortunate to have great clients from all over the place. Lots of good times and laughs lately! We have been fishing for reds so many different ways thats its hard to summarize how the fishing has been. We have had some great days lately but also have had several days mixed in with really finicky picky fish. Outside of the fishing there has been some amazing sunrises and sunsets with lots of wildlife activity! Here are a few pictures from lately. More posts to come soon!
Just wanted to put up a few pics from fishing lately. Have not been able to get out as much as I would like due to some weather over the last several weeks but we have still been fishing a good bit. There have been several days where I had to cancel my fly fishing clients due to tough weather. We have definitely experienced some tough days of fishing which nobody likes to talk about but it happens! When fish are transitioning at times they can be extremely picky. We have been seeing fish starting to wander around in the grass with the tails up ready to eat fiddlers. On lower tides fish are still packed up in the shallows and starting to see them in some of their warmer weather locations.
February and early march!
February/early march. I have been pretty bad about updating posts lately from fishing! I have had issues with uploading pictures lately and personally I hate updating the blog without pics! I have still been fishing a good bit over the last few weeks but have also been dealing with lots of funky weather. Some of the weather is fishable but when it comes to fly fishing its hard to do when its cloudy and really windy! Hopefully these fronts will hurry up and pass through! I have been fishing a lot of low water lately although in the last few weeks I have been focusing on some high water spots which has definitely payed off!!

Fished with Scott from North Carolina today. We had intentions of throwing fly at some fish but the wind kinda stopped us from doing that so we threw plastics at them today. Had kinda a rough start finding a decent school to fish and then we finally consistently got into fish. We found several groups and all of them were in their own little world not wanting much to do with us or eating. We finally dropped a big school off of a edge and stayed way off of them and picked at them for several hours. Lots of cast before one would decided to eat. Scott stayed extremely patient which was the ticket to catching fish today! Had a great time fishing with you look forward to doing it again soon! I should have some pics to post if I get some pics from Scott.

I apologize for being behind on reports lately! I have definitely still been fishing a lot the last few weeks plus I have had a few trips out of town over the last few weekends. The fishing continues to be good lately. Like any fishery we have days of tough weather and conditions and days where the fish are difficult. I can honestly say in the few weeks I have had some of my best days of fishing ever in Charleston. Finding fish tailing at low tide in the winter is always a treat and something you have to take advantage of when they are doing it. Also during some of these moderate high water stages of the tide we have found them sipping glass minnows and just being downright hungry for a fly!
As I said earlier with all this great behavior and fish activity comes the tough days as well. We have experienced some days where the fish look happy are sitting high in the water column but just don’t want to eat like they should. They will eat but they really test your patience before they do it! I am going to include some pics from the last few weeks. I want to personally thank Jason Stemple for all the pics and all his hard work lately trying to capture the right image! Check out his work at JasonStemple.Com!
